North Bradbury Farm Guest Charter

What we are doing to ensure that you have a great and most importantly safe stay at North Bradbury Farm.

This latest edition of our GC comes into effect from 19/7/21 until further notice. These are the changes we have to follow in order to comply with recommendations, from the government and PASC – to keep all our guests (and us) safe and healthy –  so we can keep North Bradbury Farm open now and for the future. Some of the changes will make you sad and you won’t be happy about – neither are we – but needs must!

BEFORE ARRIVING –

Please do not arrive with any Covid symptoms – A high temperature. A new continuous cough. A loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste. lf in doubt check with your GP or the NHS website BEFORE you travel.

Please bring facemasks for every member of the family and hand sanitiser ( for using when there is no water for hand washing ) The easiest way to stay safe is to regularly wash hands thoroughly.

Sadly we are no longer able to provide games, books, DVDs, drawing paper, felt pens, jigsaws, lego. For the younger children we will put in a tub of a few washable toys. Please bring felt pens as l am going to invite the children to make something for our new Fairy Garden.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE

Check in is now 5pm onwards – Please let us know your ETA and don’t forget feeding-up starts at 6. We’re sorry about the later check in – but with all the extra cleaning, sanitising and ventilating of your cottages and the rest of the areas you use we need every minute!

Sadly there will be no usual greeting of hugs and kisses – just lots of smiles as we will be extremely pleased to see you!

There will be a cleaning station at the farm entrance – please read and follow instructions.

Unfortunately there will be no complimentary bits on your arrival including a cream tea!

DURING YOUR STAY

Please respect the other guests staying, socially distance and remember to follow all the usual farm guidelines too. Some guests will for whatever reason prefer to just use the play areas or do the feed run on their own – if this is the case please let us know so we can sort this out. Please wear masks when asked and carry your hand sanitiser with you. When you are out and about please be respectful of local people and places you visit. Be rigorous in following social distancing when out in public. Don’t forget to take your masks out & about with you!

lf you or any member of your party show any signs of having the virus then you must immediately go and get tested by contacting:

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing-and-tracing/get-an-antigen-test-to-check-if-you-have-coronavirus/

While you are waiting you and your party will need to isolate. Test results must be shown to us. If any guests in your party have a positive test then sadly you will all need to leave. If you aren’t well enough and you have to self- isolate here, then ALL costs incurred in extending your stay will have to be met by the lead name on your booking. Likewise any costs will also have to be covered as a direct result of a positive test. We will need to provide full details on every guest, so we can pass it on to the NHS if required.

THE COTTAGES

The cottages will look different! We have had to strip out all the frillies and bits that are impossible to get clean before the next family. You can enter the cottage with confidence knowing that the cottage will have been cleaned and sanitised to the Covid – 19 ready Guidelines from PASC UK and Visit England. I have completed a ‘We’re good to go’ course and we are also strictly following the recommendations from HMG. All windows and doors will have been open all day to fully ventilate the property. PLEASE keep the cottages ventilated during the course of your stay and blow all those germs away ! Full bedding will have been replaced including duvets, pillows, mattress protectors and pillow protectors.

There will be no extra towels or bedding ( including duvets) available. So any accidents will have to be rectified by the guests. There are full washing facilities here and a launderette in South Molton.

A safety screen has been erected on the decking to provide a safe outside seating space for both cottages.

We would ask that you minimise asking us to enter your cottage during your stay. Any problems that occur please discuss with us when we are out in the yard and we will do our best to rectify.

UTILITY/GAMES ROOM

The games tables have been taken away. With this room being so small we ask that you limit your use and always use only one family at a time. If the weather isn’t good enough to dry your washing and swimming stuff outside PLEASE hang it up in the utility room and NOT your cottage! There are two drying racks please only use one per cottage.

FARM SHOP

The shop is no longer self- service – so l will open it after feeding – up twice a day. The fridge will NOT be stocked. The freezer is stocked with take-out meals, pudding, local ice cream and all the bits to go with it. We have lamb to cook and eat here or take home. Sadly no pork. We stock home – made lamb & minty burgers and local sausages and beef burgers. Duck and chicken eggs. A few jams and preserves. Charcoal for the barbie and of course CIDER!

PLAY AREAS

The play areas will be fully cleaned and sprayed every week.

Please leave these play areas how you found them!

THE POOL

At the moment the pool can only be used by ONE family at a TIME. l need time between each family to clean. Time slots can be booked for the pool during the regular opening times – late morning until 5.45 pm. The pool cannot be used if neither of us are here or on Sundays.

FEEDING UP

There is a hand sanitiser on the tack door please can everyone sanitise their hands at the start of the feed run. EVERYONE over 11 years of age please carry a mask Farmer Chris will let you know when and if they are needed. This is to protect us as much as you! EVERYONE needs to be wearing wellies!

PONY RIDES

Masks no longer need to be worn for pony rides as it is classed as an outside sport. l need to book helpers so as much notice as possible please to avoid disappointment.

WHEN YOU LEAVE

Guests HAVE to be checked out by 9am at the LATEST! Farm shop bills and shopping to be done the night before you leave.

At the end of your stay PLEASE make sure you take ALL your belongings. l had to return a crazy amount last year. This year l don’t want to be going to the post office any more than needed! All food items to be cleared – including in the fridge. lf you think there is anything suitable for the animals please ask Farmer Chris.

ALL bins need to be emptied and bagged. ALL nappies and pull – ups need to be bagged.

Please strip all beds including mattress and pillow protectors and put in the big bags that you will be given on Thursday evening.

PLEASE do not leave any masks, tissues or clothing around the farm.

AND REMEMBER

These recommendations are changing all the time and may be different by the time you arrive.

Despite all of these instructions and sounding like the holiday police we REALLY do hope you all manage to have lots of fun and a great stay with us!

Best, Farmer Chris and Tracey
